FineTek EPD Electromagnetic Flow Meter
Looking for a flow meter that won’t wear out, clog, or lose accuracy over time? The FineTek EPD Series electromagnetic flow meter measures conductive liquids with zero moving parts and no obstruction in the pipe, making it one of the most maintenance-friendly options for continuous flow monitoring. Built on the EPD30 platform, it’s available with an unusually wide choice of liners, electrode materials, and line sizes, so it can be specified precisely for the fluid and pipeline you’re working with.
How It Works
The EPD pairs a sensor and transmitter to apply Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction. Excitation coils above and below the measuring tube generate a magnetic field across the flow path. As the conductive liquid passes through that field, it induces a small voltage that a pair of electrodes on the tube’s inner wall pick up and relay to the sensor. Since that voltage rises and falls in direct proportion to how fast the liquid is moving, the transmitter converts it into an accurate, real-time flow rate.
