Contrec 515 Natural Gas Flow Computer (GN11)

The Contrec 515 GN11 is designed to accurately measure the volume, mass, and total heat content of natural gas. This advanced instrument utilizes a frequency volume flow input along with analog temperature and pressure sensor inputs for precise measurements.

This device works seamlessly with various flowmeter frequency outputs. Users can choose from millivolt signals, reed switches, Namur proximity switches, or pulse trains through its intuitive front-panel programming.

To ensure accurate flow calculations, the Contrec 515 GN11 employs the SGERG calculation method (AGA-8 Detail Characterization Method) to determine the density and compressibility factors of the gas.

CALCULATIONS

The calculations for gas density and compressibility factors are based on the SGERG (AGA-8 Gross) equations, which are applicable within the following conditions:

-8.0°C < t < 62.0°C and P < 12MPa

17°F < t < 143.0°F and P < 1740psia

FORMULAS

Mflow = volume flow • ρflow

Corrected flow = Mflow / ρ ref

Heat flow = Mflow • Hm

Where:

Mflow = mass flow

ρflow = density at flow conditions

ρ ref = density at reference conditions

Hm = mass gross heating value
